Electrical Appointed Person (AP)
Responsibilities
- Prepare, issue and control safety documents for the management of Power on Energisation
- Carry out the management of Electrical Power on and Energisation, switching, isolations and earthing through Permits, access management and Safety to works Sign off
- Prepare switching schedules and management documents for Power on / Off authorisation
- Deliver Competent Personnel training to all Site Managers and Electrical Subcontractors
- Attend site handover meetings
- Implement the relevant requirements of the company Safety, Quality, Environmental and Operational within the areas of responsibility
- Conduct recorded weekly Safety Walks of the Works ensuring compliance with company procedures, policies and safety rules
- Ensure site drawings are accurate and current
- Produce Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all Electrical working and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed in a timely manner
- Witness testing and commissioning activities when required
- Supervise works where necessary throughout the Project
- Supervise subcontractors where necessary to work safely and in accordance with Safety systems of work
- Ensure full compliance with all Electrical Safety requirements and produce control documents to manage this.
- Read drawings, specifications and meet all Client Requirements on installation and safety.
Skills and experience required
- Previous experience working as an Electrical Appointed Person ideally with a national contractor for a min 2 Years
- Hold an industry relevant City & Guilds/NVQ qualification or equivalent
- Hold a valid Site Manager {SMSTS} certificate
- Will need to be able to understand building services including design principles, method statements, 17th Edition and 18th Edition NICEIC requirements, Inspection Test Plans, Risk Assessments, commissioning and handover requirements,
RAMS, Site Safety and compliance with HSA - Able to communicate with subcontractors, consultants and
other team members
